I own 2 weeks at the Starwood Vistana Resort one annual and one bi-annual week. My mortgage has about six months remaining and is never late or missed any payments. My maintenance and taxes and upgrade fees have been paid and up to date on my annual unit however I have a problem paying the upgrade fees on the bi-annual week. I have been laid-off now going on eight months and I have told them on several occassions that it is difficult for me to make those payments now. The fees are almost $1000.00. They have locked me out of the unit that is current which I was attempting to rent to pay these fees and is threatening me leins and forcltosure. Is there anything I can do? I have asked them to rent the unti and use the funds to pay these fees and was told that they weren't renting this year (2008). Please, I am desperate. I have enough problem staying afloat.
You'll have to negotiate with your lender and sort out the issue. You should negotiate with them so that they let you rent the property. This will help you in paying off the dues on your bi-annual week. You may even negotiate with your lender to help you get a repayment plan with affordable interest rates so that you can pay off the dues.
