hi there, my bankruptcy chapter 7 was discharged and my second mortgage was included in that ch7. we have not paid on it and on my credit report it states balance $0.00, account closed and discharged through ch7. but boa has pulled my credit 3 times last year - in january 2011, march 2011 and may 2011. obviously my credit is trashed right now but those three hard pulls are affecting it. question is - since we legally do not owe boa, do they still have the right to pull my credit without my authorization? is there anything i can do?
Hi Tiaraa,
Yes, it is true that a hard credit check will have a bad impact on your scores. You should dispute those hard credit checks and remove them from your credit report. Creditors have to have your consent to check your credit. You can even send a remove inquiry letter to the creditor for the same.
Thanks

Welcome Tiaraa,
Without your authorization, no one can go for a hard credit check. You can contact an attorney and take his help in this regard.
