Posted on: 25th Aug, 2010 06:08 pm
i have va loan. wife retiring next year, we moving back home--but more expensive to live there. I am trying to sell home, but sales slow & very few here. I have had home 3 years, not much into it. can i get a lawyer to do a dead-in-lieu for us, & can it be done on a va loan??
I am disabled/retired elderly. we cannot afford to keep this ery old home--i bought because landlord was dying, & I did not want to move. thanks
hi guest!

welcome to forums!

you don't need a lawyer to do a deed in lieu of foreclosure. you can directly contact the lender and apply for a deed in lieu of foreclosure. if the lender is convinced about your financial hardship, then he would accept your request. however, you should be delinquent on your mortgage payments in order to get your request accepted by the lender.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.
