My ex husband remarried and he and his new wife bought a house. He then quitclaimed it over to her for one dollar. He has stopped paying child support. Can we go after the equity in this home they live in? Is there any tax implications to ex wife
Hi Mom,
The property is in the name of the new wife and not in the name of your ex-husband. You cannot place a lien on the new wife's property as she was not liable for paying the child support. You should try placing the lien on other properties that are in the name of your ex-husband.
Thanks

What if he put everything he owned in her name but is paying the mortgage.
Hi Mon,
Though he is paying the mortgage, the property is in the name of the new wife. In such a situation, you can't place a lien on that property.
