After my parents died, my siblings and I signed a quit-claim deed, in which six of us have access to 6.87 acres of land. Do I need their approval to have a piece of the land surveyed for my use. I would like to put that piece in my name, to put a manufactured home on it.
You don't need approval to have it surveyed but you will need their approval to have that portion released from the whole and deeded in your name only. So it may be best to consult with them prior to the survey being completed because you may not want to spend that kind of money only to have them disagree on the boundaries later on.
Hi deborahfrayer!
Welcome to Forums!
You can go for a survey of the land without their approval but while setting up the home/mobile home, you will require the permission of the others.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
