which happened first, steve? did you quit claim your interest in the property first? if so, did the divorce decree address that situation in providing half of the equity back to you?

I DID THE QUIT CLAIM AFTER THE DIVORCE
so what was the stipulation? is your former wife required to obtain a new mortgage now so that she can pay you off? if she neglects to do so and the decree required it, you can always return to the court for further adjudication. but the bottom line is that she will need to obtain a new mortgage (or come up with the cash on her own) to buy you out.
