i quit claim deed to my grandmother she has recently passed. does the property go back to me. im still paying the mortgage. what do i need to do to transfer the deed back in my name?
Hi yvette,

Does the title to the property show only your grandmother's name or both her and your names? If her name is the only name on the title, I don't think you can just claim the ownership back and have the title changed in your name. I think you will have to file an affidavit of heirship with the probate court to get the property deed in your name. However, if your name is already listed on the title along with your grandmother's name, you can go to the county recorder's office with the death certificate of your grandmother and get the property deed solely in your name.
