my boyfriend is in the middle of filing bankruptcy....they are allowing him to refinance his condo. i will be helping pay the mortage, as i will be living there as well, (i am also keeping my home which is paid in full). long story short, the city in which he lives is where i do most of my business, so paying for a house will be cheaper than a hotel. anyhow, i want to protect myself. i don't want to just throw money away. i don't know without me could he keep the payments up. would it be wise for me to ask him to quick claim deed it to me? and how would that affect his bankruptcy?
Hi JosieMorgan,
As the property is included in the bankruptcy filing, I don't think it would be a good idea to quitclaim the property to you. I would suggest you to take the advice of a real estate attorney before taking any action in this regard.
Thanks
