I'm going to buy a house, but my wife is still in he Philippines, and my realtor advice me to have my wife sign a quitclaim deed. Is it really advisable to have a quitclaim deed even though her name is not going to be in the title?
Can I put her name in the title? If something happens to me and she signed the quitclaim deed, who would own the house? and what would happen next?

Hi Patricio!

If you do not want to include your wife's name on the property deed, then she does not have to sign the deed. If you want her to be the part owner of the property, then she will have to sign the quit claim deed. If your wife's name is on the deed, then after your death she can claim sole ownership in the property.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
