This spring my boyfriend and I bought a home. The purchase of the property is in my name only because we wanted to take advantage of the First Time Homebuyers Tax credit. We now want to record both names on the house. Do I file a quitclaim or warranty deed? How do I get the forms for this? I have tried calling the register of deeds but no one answers the phone.
Thanks,
Megan

Hi Guest!
Welcome to forums!
You will have to use a quitclaim deed in order to add your boyfriend to the property deed. This will make both of you the owners of the property. You can contact an attorney and he will help you in drafting the quitclaim deed.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
