My fater passed away 1 yr ago and did not leave a will, my sister and i agreed she would become sole owner and responsible for it, i was told i needed to type a document and have it notarized. I'm not sure what exactly needs to be in the letter. I would appreciate any advice or direction I can get. Thank you Fran
Did the property go through probate?

Hi Francess!

Welcome to forums!

As there was no will, your sister can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in her name. This will make her the sole owner of the property. Your sister can even contact a real estate attorney and take his advice in this regard.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
