I live in the State of Washington. My mother acquired out home through a divorce settlement but never took my fathers name off the deed. She passed last year and I am now trying to get the home in my name, I am the administrator of her estate. I need to know what papers would I fill out to succeed in this transfer. My father is still alive and living in another state and is willing to sign papers if needed.
Hi concordegrad,
You can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in your name. Then you can ask your father to transfer the property in your name by signing the required docs.
Take care
