S.C. Quitclaim Deed

Posted on: 28th Jul, 2011 06:00 am
Can I download a quitclaim deed, fill it out, have both parties sign and have signatures notarized, then submit to Georgetown County, S.C. for filing and be legal without having to contact an attorney to file for me? I live in Alabama and my attorney here does not have authority to practice in S.C.

Thanks,
Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

You can notarize and record the property deed on your own at the county recorder's office. Though you will be doing it without an attorney, the deed will be considered as legal. However, it is always suggested to contact an attorney as he can check the documents and let you know if there are any errors.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
