Is it a law or truth that just because you are married that your spouse's name has to go on the title of home?
I am not sure whether including the name of the spouse in the title of home is mandatory.
not mandatory. If you live in community property state then you would have to sign the quit claim to the property, releasing you of ownership rights to the property
