I purchased my home 6 months before I got married. I am the only one on the deed and the mortgage. My husband recently passed away. If an estate has to be opened, do I have to list my home as an asset of his if he was never on the deed?
Since your deceased husband's name is not there in the deed as well as in the mortgage, you do not have to declare the home as the asset of your deceased husband.
If your husband's name was never mentioned on the property deed, then you won't have to list the property as his asset.
