Quit Claim Deed

Posted on: 19th Nov, 2013 10:12 am
My husband and I bought a house 3 years ago and it's only in his name. We just had our wills drawn up this week and would like to add my, his spouse, onto the deed/title of our home. what is the best way to do this? I want to be sure that by doing this it makes us both co-owers of our home. Thanks!
Welcome Melodi,

You can ask him to use a quitclaim deed in order to add your name to the property deed. Once your name is added to the deed, you will be able to become one of the co-owners of the property.
