Ex spouse filing for bankruptcy

Posted on: 14th Aug, 2014 06:42 am
I currently live in the house we both bought together. I have lost my job and fell behind on my credit cards and house payment. Now I have a job and making up the payments. I went in to pay the mortgage the other day, but they told me they couldn't take the payment and told to me to call a number. So I did and they told me that my ex filed for bankruptcy and that I cant make payments. They also told me to wright a hardship letter. I cant refinance because my credit got screwed up during my divorcee and non payments of loosing my job. I wrote the hardship letter, is there anything else I can do to save it or am I screwed? I live in GA.
Maybe try to talk with your mortgage lender and tell your situation. There is always a best solution for everything something that is win-win for both of you.
