Hello there… I have a one year lease on a property. I have been living in that property for the last 7 months. I want to add my boyfriend to the property lease. I need to know if there is a certain amount of time you have to live there before you can add someone to the lease.

As far as I know, you can't add a name to an existing lease. You should wait till the existing lease gets expired and then apply for a fresh lease along with your boyfriend.

The lease agreement is binding. Yo can't do anything on it. However, once the lease period is over, then you can add your boyfriend's name in a fresh lease.
Ask the landlord to add the new tenant to the lease. If the landlord agrees, there is a standard lease amendment form you can get from a realtor, or download from the internet, and sign.
