Adding Ownership Position/Financing

hi, i own a house today with my sister. we agreed and went in together on a home. it made the most since at the time to put the house in her name due to i was going through a divorce.
my name was not added to the deed at the time also. now i am going to buy her interest out of the property at a given amount.
would it be better to add my name to the deed and then remove her name? i could then just refinance the property in my name.
if not i would have to write a purchase contract.
thanks, j
Hi jasohodg!

She can use a warranty deed or a grant deed in your name and transfer the property to you. You can then notarize and record the deed at the county recorder's office. After this, you can refinance the mortgage in your name.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
