How do I add my husband to the title so that he has all rights as if he was on it at origination? I had my home before we married and want to add him to the title.
Check with your lender first. Typically, one can use a quitclam deed with you as grantor and you and your husband, as husband and wife, as grantee. Make sure you notarize the deed and record it in the county recorders office in the county where the property is located.
Hi Guest,
Welcome to the forum.
Jheard has given you the right suggestion. If your house is a mortgage property then you can use a quitclaim deed. Otherwise grant deed will be a better option for you. Contact attorney and he will prepare the deed for you and help you to make the deed valid.
