my mother would like my deceased father's name off of the deed, what does she need to do?
Hi Guest,
If your father did not leave back a will, then your mother will have to file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in her name. If there's a will, then it needs to be probated. Once the probate is complete, then the property would be divided amongst the heirs accordingly.
