10 years ago my sister and I entered into a n agreement to purchase a home together. the aggreement was verbal. At the time I was not able to get a loan in my name. My sister purchased the property with the intent of adding my name to the deed. We never did it and now she is involved with a man who is controlling and now wants me out of the home. She is "in love" and is listening to him. I have paid half of the mortgage and bills along with upkeep and maintenance. Can I have a claim to the house?
Welcome Stacey,

As your name is not on the property deed, you cannot claim any ownership to that property. You can ask your sister to pay you back the amount of money that you've invested in the mortgage and the bills. Once she pays you the money, you may leave the property.
