On my great-grandmother's deed, the lawyer that drew the deed also notarized the deed.
My grandmother added her name to the deed without my great-grandmother truly knowing what was going on.
Is it possible for the lawyer the advised them to also notarize the deed?

Hi andpau,
An attorney can notarize the deed. You should note that the deed becomes valid when it is notarized and filed at the county recorder's office. Thus, it is possible that the lawyer had advised your grandmother to notarize the deed.
Thanks
