Hi,
What is the best way to find a legitimate and trusted real estate attorney? I'd like to speak with someone, but want to make sure they have valid creditials. Do you have a site or know of anyone i can speak with? Also, what is the best way to know when speaking with an attorney if they have the creditials to do so?
Thanks

Hi CC!
Welcome to forums!
You can check out the following link where you can find a listing of attorneys of various states:
You can also talk to local real estate brokers for referrals. Apart from this, you can also call a local realtors association for referrals.

Most of the sites for Attorney referrals are paid advertisement by the Attorney, so there is no way to determine their expertise.
I agree with Sussane, check with a Real Estate Company and see who they use for an Attorney, a recommendation from them would help.
Better than just going to the Yellow Pages or the Internet.
I am in Alabama and could recommend an Alabama Attorney if your issue is in Alabama.

jan, i am in full agreement with you. checking online isn't a very reliable source for most any product or service. the best bet, we usually find, is to check with friends or relatives who've used legal counsel for their recommendations. sometimes that may be negative, but that's a recommendation by itself also.
recommendations from lenders who you have trust in, or a cpa if you use one, or if you happen to be in a church family that includes attorneys who might be righteous...these are other pretty decent sources of information to lead you to the right party.
