My husband and I are considering bankruptcy. I'd like us to file Ch. 7. We have a mortgage/ no equity & lease one car. I work and won't retire for 10 yes, he's on SSD and has a pension. I want to keep the house and car out of the bankruptcy. My concerns are, my brother and I are on moms quit claim deed, she's 92, also, I have heard if you file bankruptcy, you can't have a job that deals with money or financial issues. My job of 15+ years involves both. Also, my daughter leases a car with my husband as a cosigner. She's almost done with the car pmts. Could they take that away from her because he cosigned way back?

Hi sunny,
Your husband may include the car in his bankruptcy as his asset and his debt. He may get a discharge from the debt but your daughter will be liable for making the payments.
Thanks
