I am selling one of my properties which I had recently renovated. If I die before the closing is completed, will my brother be able to accept the money at the time of closing? I have already signed the purchase contract.
Things will not be that easy. Once you pass away, your property and assets will go to the estate. If you have a will, then you property and assets will be divided accordingly. So, it is better to draft a will with your brother as the beneficiary.
Hi Guest!

Niicss is right in saying so. Unless your brother has legal rights, he will not be able to accept the money on your behalf after your death.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
