mY MOTHER AND FATHER ARE DECEASED THEY LEFT A HOUSE BUT IT'S STILL IN MY FATHER NAME. WHAT CAN I DO TO CHANGE THE DEED INTO MY NAME. mY SIBLINGS ARE TRYING TO TAKE THE HOUSE FROM ME. HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A LIVING TRUST, BUT NO ONE HAS A COPY OF IT. THE ATTORNEY THAT REPRESENT MY FATHER IS DISBAR, SO HE WAS NOT GIVING ME ANY ASSISTANT . WHAT CAN I LEGALLY DO TO KEEP THE HOUSE THAT MY FATHER WANT ME TO HAVE.
Hi reliford,
If your father has left a will mentioning the fact that you will own the property after his death, then you can claim ownership in the property. However, if he has not left any will, then you as well as all your siblings have rights to the property. They will have the rights to claim their share of the property.
Thanks
