Change deed of deceased parent to beneficiaries in the Will

Posted on: 07th Oct, 2009 01:15 pm
Hi,

My father-n-law passed away 1/09, my husband is the Executor of the Estate. The estate was left to share and share alike among (7) grown children. How should we proceed with getting the DEED changed out of my father-n-law's name and who's name do we put on the new DEED? The property is paid for.

Thanks!
Deneen

welcome to mortgagefit

If the property is supposed to be divided equally among 7 brothers/sisters, it can be done so.In this case all the seven people will have equity in the home but if one person ( or few of them ) want to take ownership of the property then that can be done by paying each individual equivalent amount of money according to their equity and current market value of the house.

You better discuss this with an attorney...
