My father is deceased, His Will stated that his home would be left to me. Since then is estate has gone through probate. I've payed the mortgage for three years and now I want to transfer the deed over to my name. Where do I start. I forgot to mention that Im also the representative of his estate, if that matters
Hi larryfrancois,
As your father had left a will before his death and the property has been probated, I believe the title have already been changed in your name. If it hasn't yet been chaged, then you have to file the death certificate of your father along with other documents that prove your claim on the property with the county recorder's office so they issue a new title in your name.
