I just got married and would like to change the deed to my house to my new name. How do I do that?
How do I change my name on my deed
Hi bshack/becky!
Welcome to forums!
You need to sign a new quit claim deed where your old name will be mentioned as the grantor whereas your marital name should be mentioned as the the grantee to the property. Thus, the property deed will be changed in your new name.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Obvious question is "why"? Cost of deed is likely $50 plus recording. You always have "htta" for future financing. Where's "women's lib" when you need it!
Hi Guest,
I can understand your situation. But you can't help it. You will have to buy the deed in order to fill it out and get it recorded. There are some sample quit claim deed forms available online but it's always better to take the help of an attorney to get it drafted.
Thanks
