My mother (the decedant) left a home to me in her name. How do I transfer my name onto the deed and will this taxable.
Hi DeCarlo!
Welcome to the forums!
You will have to file an affidavit of heirship and get the property transferred in your name. As far as the taxes are concerned, you will have to get in touch with a tax adviser in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi DeCarlo,
You can contact a real estate attorney and he will help you in filing the affidavit of heirship.
Thanks

You will have to file an affidavit to change the name and get the property in your name. I agree that a real estate attorney would be able to help you better in this regard.
