is there a more affodable way to change a title than having to go through probate?

trying to transfer the title from my deceased grandmothers name to my mothers, she left the property(in california) to my mother in her will. does the property have to go through probate or is there any other affordable way to transfer the title? this is the only thing the mortgage leander is asking for before they can make any loan modifications.
Hi heathergirl,

As your grandmother has left a will, it needs to be probated. Once the probate is complete, the will needs to be recorded at the county recorder's office. This will help your mother in transferring the property in her name.
