mother in law issues

Posted on: 07th May, 2009 01:09 pm
My husband and his dad are on the title to our home. The mortgage is still in his dad's name but we pay every bit of it along with the home owners policy...termite bond...etc. Just yesterday I found out my mother in law was telling people that my husband would be better pff just paying child support.....since I am not working. This has never been an issue with my husband and I ....only his mom has an obvious problem with it. Is there anything that I can do here. If something were to happen would I be left with nothing and no claim to my half of the home?
Hi joy!

Welcome to forums!

You can ask your husband to add your name to the property deed. This will help you in becoming one of the owners of the property. In case, if something wrong happens, you will be able to claim half of the property.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
