i just found out today that after i receive my money from the interest due me from a quit claim deed that i still own part of the lot that was auctioned off. a lawyer told me that the owner of the property can sue me and the other lady's heir (as she's deceased) to get the title cleared. i was contacted by a man wanting to purchase my part of the lot so he could build a home on it for his dad who has cancer. he was willing to give me $3,000 which he said was more than he would have to pay an attorney to get a quiet title. the lawyer i spoke to today thinks he's working for the owner. i wish there was a way to find out why everyone wants this title cleared when the lawyer i spoke to went and saw it and the lake now has no more water in it. he said unless the owner thinks the water will come back. i'm wondering how i can get the best offer as nobody has tried to contact me but this man wanting to build a house on this part of the lot i own. if the property was auctioned off then how could he? very confusing to me. anyone know anything about this type situation? thanks for any info.
Welcome back Peejo,
Nice to have you amongst us.
Well, I cannot say whether the person willing to buy the property is working for the owner. But anyway, it's better that you have a clear title on your property and for that you can go for a title search being done by a title company.

It’s all really very confusing Peejo. In my opinion you should contact an attorney to get a clear understanding of what is actually happening with this property.
