even though the loan is only under my husband's name, but on the hud settlement statement it states name and address of borrower: b.n,(husband's name) and k.n (my name),husband and wife. does this mean i am also responsible for the loan? i don't remember signing anything on the loan as co-borrower and it's not on my credit report....can they still come after me for the loan?. was it because they have to add my name to the title so that is why they included my name on the settlement statement? i just want to make sure they don't come after me for the loan and once i do file a quit claim deed, can they make my husband pay for all the loan amount??? thanks for all your knowledge....
If your name is on the HUD settlement statement as a borrower, I would assume you were included on the loan. The best way to know for sure is to go to the county superior court clerks office and search for the most recent security deed. This type of deed secures the loan. If you are on the loan, your name would be on this document.
