Hi,
My husband has a terminal illness. We own a home together in Washington state and the deed has both our names on it. We each have a will established leaving everything to the surviving spouse. My husband has several credit cards in his name only with high balances. I would like to know can the credit card companies put a lien on our home property after he dies? This is very scary. Thank you

Hi drae,
After your husband's death, the credit card companies can come after his estate in order to recover the debts.
Thanks

Hi drae!
Welcome to forums!
If his name is mentioned on the property deed as one of the owners, then the creditors can even place a lien on the property in his life time.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
