my husband and I owned a house ,he is now deceased. how do I go about taking his name off the deed without spending a lot of money
Hi chaz!

Welcome to forums!

If your husband did not leave back a will, then you can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get it transferred in your name. If your husband has left back a will, then it needs to be probated. After the probate is complete, the property would be divided accordingly.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
