my sister's name was put on on my mother's deed because they refinanced in 2006. on 2/2008 my sister died in a car accident. how do we remove her name from my mother's house deed? there is still an outstanding balance on the refinance.

Hi zelia,

You and your mother will have to file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in our names. This will make you and your mother the sole owner of the property.
