House is paid off. Would like to add my sister's name to house deed since she owns 20% of it.
Sorry...We live in New York City. What is the best way: legal, and cheapest way to go about this? My sister needs to prove to her car insurance company that she is a homeowner in order to gain a huge discount in her premium.

You can add your sister's name to the property deed with the help of a quitclaim deed. Once the quitclaim deed is filled out, you will have to notarize it and record it at the county recorder's office. To know more about quitclaim deed, check out the following link:
