In 2002 my wife and I built a home. In order to get a great mortgage interest rate our realtor suggested that my wife applied alone based on her excellent credit score. At closing I noticed that my name was not included on the property deed. The attorney promised to add my name at a later date. After checking I've noticed that my name still has yet to be added on to the deed. My wife has asked that I find out how to have my name added to the property deed. How do I get my name added?
Hi rick!

Welcome to forums!

You can ask your wife to sign a quit claim deed and add your name to the property deed. Her name will be mentioned as the grantor whereas both you and your wife's name will be mentioned as the grantee of the property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Get permission from your mortgage company first, as this type of transfer may trigger a due-on-sale clause in the mortgage.
