I was considered common-law married... we bought a home together in 2004. I moved out in 2005 and agreed to give him the property and bought myself a home... I was told to nullify common-law status we would have to be apart 6 months.... five years later, I'm still listed on his deed with him only on his mortgage, and he is listed on my deed, with only me on my mortgage. Now I am about to be legally married and would like to clean this up. . . what should I do?
hi blakely,

i would suggest you to contact a real estate attorney and take his suggestions in this regard. as far as mortgage is concerned, he will have to refinance it in his name.
