My father is going to add his name onto his mothers house to eliminate any discussion of who will get her house after her death. (she does have a will but they are doing this to avoid anyone contesting the will). Someone told us that if she were to pass within 5 years of this happening it would be null, and it wouldn't matter that my fathers name is on it. Is there any truth to this?
Hi Ann!

Welcome to forums!

If your father's mother transfers the property to him solely, then he will become the property owner from immediate affect. No one will be able to claim ownership of that property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
