deed to grandson

Posted on: 06th Jan, 2010 11:14 am
I have a piece of property that I wish to deed to my grandson. I wish it to be worded so that a wife could not be entitled to any part of it in case of separation. Can you help me with the wording? thank you
"a wife" - is this an existing wife or a presumption? i honestly don't believe that such a caveat would be viable; i hope so, anyway.

existing.

well of course you can transfer directly to your son only, and advise both of them of your rule in the matter. put it in writing and you'll be better off. i just don't think it can be conditional on the document. check with a lawyer for definitive clarification, though.
