Getting a name off the deed

Posted on: 15th Jan, 2009 08:00 pm
I want to sell a house that has 2 names on the deed. I have no way to get in touch with the co-owner,nor is it even her correct name. How can I fix this? Thank you for any help.
Welcome mizwyld,

In order to sell off the property, both the persons on the deed are required to sign. As you cannot contact the co-owner, it will be difficult for you. In my opinion, you should contact an attorney and he/she will tell you about the steps you need to take.
