Hello,
My mom lived in Maryland for 3 years prior to passing away in Dec 2010. She owned property in New York State in common with her sister(deceased and her portion given to her 4 grandchildren, and a sister-in-law.
I have 2 sisters, and we want to transfer the deed to our names in common with the above people.
Do we need to have some legal work done with this in Maryland and in NYS?
Or can this all be done by attorney in NYS?
Cost approximately?
Thank you so much,
Karenm

Hi karenmoskowitz!
Welcome to forums!
As the property is based in New York, then you'll have to contact an attorney based in New York in order to get the property transferred in your names. It is the attorney who will let you know about the costs.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
