my ex-husband passed away in 2003. we had property together that he never removed my name from. i signed a quit claim deed as i was told that his will superceded the deed. his estate was willed to his parents. they passed away and left his estate to their daughter. have i lost out on the property because of the quit claim deed, or was i lied to about his will and the deed?
Hi florencehucke!

Welcome to forums!

If you signed a quitclaim deed and transferred the property to your ex-husband, then he was the sole owner of the property. If he has left a will, then the will needs to be probated and the property should be divided as per the will.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
