Interspousal tranfer grant deed

Posted on: 09th Dec, 2009 09:47 am
I had to sign an interspousal transfer grant deed when my husband bought the house. Does that mean that in case of a divorce I would walk away with nothing? Meaning that I gave up on all the rights as his wife in the transaction?
Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

If you had signed an interspousal transfer deed, then it means that you've transferred all your rights regarding that property to your husband. Thus, you will not be considered as the owner of the property. In case of a divorce, you will not be able to claim anything from that property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
