my parents have both passed in the last two years. About 10 years ago they put their property in my two brothers and my name. We are selling the property and will be closing soon, do our spouses have to be at the closing to sign off on the dower rights?
Ask the attorney or title company that's handling the closing
Hi dwillison!
Welcome to the forums!
Well, a dower is the wifes right to receive an income or interest from the estate of her husband upon his death. In your case, I dont think the spouses need to be present at the closing while you sell off the property.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I think you mean community property rights. Generally, inherited property is separate property of the devisee (person inheriting the property), not community property. However, most buyers want the spouse to sign off on the deed just in case.
