Quitclaim deed and equity

Posted on: 25th Sep, 2007 04:50 pm
My father signed a quitclaim deed 20 years ago when he married his present wife. He has since completely remodeled the home and paid for all the remodeling as well as doing all the work. Is he entitled to any equity?
Hi Guest,

Welcome to the forum.

From what you have mentioned I think that your father has signed over a quitclaim deed and transferred his property to his present wife. In that case, after giving up his ownership rights, he is not entitled to any equity.
