My grandparents left their estate to several of their children in their will. Now my dad wants to give me his share. If the estate is still in my grandparents name how do we transfer his share to me? Thank you.
Hi meusher!
Welcome to forums!
Your father and his siblings will have to probate the will in order to transfer it in their names. Once that is done, then your father can sign a quitclaim deed or a warranty deed and get the property transferred to you.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Thanks Sussane,
Some of the sibblings have died and my dad is sick. He has given me Power of Attorney but what should I get in place if something happens to him to make sure his share goes to me? Thanks again.

Hi meusher,
You can use the power of attorney to get the property deed transferred in your name. This will make you the owner of the property.

Hello meusher,
Ownership of real estate is transferred by deed. Deeds should be drafted by an attorney or other legal professional with experience in deed drafting.
